Over the last few years, rumors and reports have slowly teased exciting new updates on one of the most long-awaited sequels of the modern era, Spaceballs 2. While a second movie seemed extremely unlikely for a very long time, the 2020s put things in motion, as original writer/producer/director/star Mel Brooks teamed up with Josh Gad after Gad sent him an idea for the plot that pushed the movie ahead at Ludicrous Speed. Officially confirmed for development in June 2025, this film now has a chance to become one of the funniest and most nostalgic movies of 2027.
