'Onslaught' Is an "Unabashedly Violent" John Carpenter Movie in First Rotten Tomatoes Reviews

After directing two Godzilla x Kong installments, Adam Wingard has returned to smaller-scale filmmaking with Onslaught. Distributed and produced by A24, the New York-based company has released titles like the biopic Tony, the viral horror sensation Backrooms, the thriller film The Death of Robin Hood, and now Wingard's new action feature. Onslaught's tone and premise make it feel like a spiritual sequel to 2014's The Guest, which starred Dan Stevens. Now that the first reviews for Onslaught have begun to pour in, we can see if Wingard has successfully returned to the genre that made him famous.
