'Abbott Elementary' Creator Quinta Brunson Developing Betty Boop Movie

Created by Max Fleischer in 1930, Betty Boop is one of the most iconic cartoon characters of all time. Originally debuting as a poodle-like nightclub singer before being refined into her now-signature human flapper design, Betty Boop starred in 90 cartoons between 1930 and 1939. While Betty Boop has appeared in cameo roles in films like Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and was also the subject of Boop! The Musical, she has never starred in her own theatrically released feature film.
