2019's Ready or Not wasn't exactly begging for a sequel. Despite bearing the hallmarks of the sort of horror film that typically produces a hasty follow-up, the success of Ready or Not was somewhat more gratifying because directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett didn't immediately announce a sequel. The few questions that lingered at the end of the film were fun to consider, if not necessary to answer. Ready or Not 2: Here I Comeexpands on the lore of its predecessor, building on the concept of a shadowy ruling class that abides by a litany of idiosyncratic rules and bylaws — not unlike the world of John Wick — in a sequel that's twice as violent but only half as entertaining to watch.
