Disney has set a release date for Lilo & Stitch 2, the sequel to 2025's smash-hit live-action remake. Originally intended for release on Disney+, the remake of the 2002 animated classic Lilo & Stitch opened in theaters on May 23, 2025, and became a box office success. Despite mixed reviews from critics and fans of the original film, the live-action remake grossed $423.8 million worldwide and $1.04 billion. A sequel was officially announced to be in development that year on Jun. 26, 6/26, a clever reference to Stitch's experiment number.
