Despite Transformers Onegetting some of the best reviews in the franchise's history, Paramount Pictures does not look to be interested in a sequel, according to the film's director. Transformers One opened in theaters on Sept. 20, 2024, and was an animated prequel to the iconic franchise, showing how a young Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-16 (Brian Tyree Henry) went from being friends to mortal enemies as Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively. Despite an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie sadly underperformed at the box office, grossing $59.1 million domestically and $129.4 million worldwide against a budget that ranged from $75 to $140 million.
