'Transformers One' Director Reveals Paramount Is Not Interested in Sequel

Despite Transformers Onegetting some of the best reviews in the franchise's history, Paramount Pictures does not look to be interested in a sequel, according to the film's director. Transformers One opened in theaters on Sept. 20, 2024, and was an animated prequel to the iconic franchise, showing how a young Orion Pax (Chris Hemsworth) and D-16 (Brian Tyree Henry) went from being friends to mortal enemies as Optimus Prime and Megatron, respectively. Despite an 89% on Rotten Tomatoes, the movie sadly underperformed at the box office, grossing $59.1 million domestically and $129.4 million worldwide against a budget that ranged from $75 to $140 million.
