Audiences can't get enough of Sinners, as the new horror thriller not only surpassed opening weekend projections, but the final box office numbers were also higher than what was initially reported on Easter Sunday. Sinners is the fifth film from director Ryan Coogler, and his first original film not based on a true story or a pre-existing IP. With a cast led by Michael B. Jordan, great trailers, and exceptional word of mouth from both critics and audiences, Sinners rode a wave of good buzz to defy expectations and take the number one spot at the box office from A Minecraft Movie, the expected winner of the holiday weekend.
