Cate Blanchett leads an all-star cast in a Borderlands video game series adaptation that will suffice open-minded fans and get predictably trashed by highbrow critics. The beloved, first-person looter-shooter and its legions of dedicated players won't be disappointed. The games' kooky characters are easily recognizable and get down to the violent business of seeking treasure with a few surprise twists. Gore and horror master Eli Roth keeps the non-stop action PG-13 friendly to capture a wider audience. There are no open wounds or blood-spurting arteries here.
